Our Story
Blue Penny began in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, when two challenges converged for our founders, Mark Claussner and John Kazmer. A longtime professional stunt driver, Mark learned that a racing school needed a way to safely sanitize shared race cars without using harsh chemicals that could harm drivers or damage expensive interiors. At the same time, he was introduced to aqueous ozone — a powerful, chemical-free sanitizer that is safe for both people and surfaces. The challenge became finding a simple, practical way to use it every day.

During the lockdown, Mark began developing a mobile solution in his workshop. After months of testing, the first prototype proved successful at the racing school, though it required refinement. John proposed using wipes to improve ease of use, and Warren Briggs joined the team, bringing electronics and engineering expertise to advance production.

After years of development and securing a patent, the O₃ Wipe solution became a reality. Dan Duffy later joined the venture to help scale the business, launching Blue Penny into its next phase of growth.
